Counter – Strike 1.6 (CS 1.6) is one of the most popular multiplayers game. Still, through it is a very old game, it helds 3rd place in steam ladder of players online at the same time. It is a FPS game (First-person shooter). This game runs on half-life 1 engine, so we can easily see the simmilarity to Half-life game in physics. There is a wide range of weapons, like pistols, rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles and granades andd you can improve your soldier with stuff like kevlar, helmet, nightvision and few others. Because of half-life 1 engine, modders have done a great job there, in improving new modifications and variuos maps. One of the most intereting is Surf, which is using game bug. But there are many more mods, like warcraft, jail, minigames, zombiemod and more.

Basic game is very simple, there are 2 teams, fighting each other: Terrorists (T) and Counter-Terrorists (CT). In a official mappacks, there 3 kinds of maps.

1. beginning with de_ (e.g.: de_dust2). Objective for CT's on these maps is to cover 2 bomb spots (Bomb place A, B) and in case of not covering it properly, to defuse the bomb. For T's it is very simple, just go to one of the bomb spots and plant it here.
2. beginning with cs_ (e.g.: cs_office). Objective for CT's on these maps is to rescue 4 hostages and bring them to safe zone. T's just have to prevent ti to happen.
3. beginning with as_ (e.g.: as_oilrig). In this modification one of CT's changes into a V.I.P, who has only kevlar and a pistol. Objective of other CT's is to protect him and help him to get to a safe point. If T's kill him, CT's automaticaly lost the round.
